How to rent student housing

Who can rent student housing?

You can apply for student housing if you study at the University of Borås, a higher vocational education programme in Borås, or remotely at another university in Sweden.

Study requirements and verification

• To rent student housing, you must earn at least 15 higher education credits per semester. For doctoral students, the requirement is at least 50% study activity per semester.
• We check your student status once per semester to make sure you still meet the requirements.
• In some circumstances, you may be eligible for an exemption from the study requirements. Contact us to apply for an exemption.

Register an account

Before you can apply for student housing, you need to create an account with us.
Register here.

Step-by-step:

1. Choose "Ja/Yes" if you’re registering with someone else, or "Nej/No" if you're registering alone (most common).
2. If you don’t have a Swedish personal identity number, select "Nej/No" and enter your date of birth as YYMMDD.
3. Fill out the form and click "Nästa" (Next).
4. On the next page:
5. Tick the box: "Jag vill samla köpoäng för lägenheter" (I want to register in the student housing queue).
6. If you need parking, tick: "Jag vill ha min köplats för fordonsplats aktiverad" (I want to register for the parking queue).
7. Click "Nästa" (Next).
8. Fill in:
9. Type of income → Choose "Studiebidrag" (Study grant).
   Yearly income → Enter the amount in SEK. Företag/skola → Enter your school. Nuvarande boendeform → Choose "Annat" (Other). Antal personer → Select how many people will live in the apartment. Click "Nästa" (Next).
10. Set your password (6–10 characters, with at least one uppercase and one lowercase letter).
11. You can use both letters and numbers.
12. Click "Nästa" (Next) to review your info.
13. Review your details.
14. Click "Tillbaka" (Back) if you need to make changes.
15. When everything is correct, click "Slutför" (Finish).

Done! You are now registered and ready to start booking student housing.
