When you move in

Welcome to us, and congratulations on your new apartment. There is a fair amount to think about before the move. Here we have gathered information and tips to make it easier for you to settle into your new home.

Reporting your move and changing your address

Report your move to Skatteverket so that you are registered at the right address. When you report your move, you must give your apartment number (4 digits). You will find the apartment number in your lease agreement.

The right registered address matters for many reasons, for example benefits, tax and the right to vote.

Also change your address with Svensk Adressändring. That service saves you having to contact companies yourself, and makes sure bills and post arrive on time.

Agreements - electricity, telephone, TV and broadband

Contact your providers in good time so you have household electricity, internet, telephone and TV from the day you move in.

Internet

Most of our apartments are connected to Nätkraft Borås's fibre network. On their website you can choose the internet provider you want.

Electricity

For an electricity agreement, contact Nätkraft Borås, who own the electricity grid in Borås. On their website you can report both moving in and moving out.

Home insurance

You are responsible for taking out home insurance. Contact your insurance company and make sure it applies from the date you get access to the apartment. Home insurance protects your home and your belongings. It also gives you travel cover, liability cover, legal cover and cover against assault. The liability cover helps you if, for example, you cause damage to your rented home.

Collect the keys and get information

You get access to your new apartment on the first weekday of the month your lease agreement starts.

Example: if your lease agreement starts in September and 1 September falls on a Saturday, you get access to the apartment on Monday 3 September.

You can collect your keys from 2 pm on moving day at the earliest. Remember to bring valid ID. If the apartment is ready earlier, we will get in touch. If you want to collect the keys on another day, call us on 033-44 20 00.

You collect the keys from our customer service at Västerbrogatan 8B. When you collect them, you also get information about your new apartment and the area you are moving to.

Once you have your keys, you are responsible for them. If you lose a key, contact us as soon as possible.

Check the inspection report

You find the report in Boendeappen on the day you move in. The inspection report was made to see whether anything needed repairing or fixing after the previous tenant. If you find something that is not in the report, contact us straight away.

Paying the rent

You pay your rent in advance each month. In Boendeappen you find your rent invoice, which says the date the rent must be paid by. You can also see any other invoices from us there.

The simplest way is to pay by e-invoice or direct debit. Both are free. Contact your bank if you need help getting started.
