Borås residents honoured with a photo exhibition at Abecita Popkonst och Foto

The housing company Bostäder i Borås pays tribute to the city's residents in "Boråsare", a photo exhibition that brings out the unseen stories of the people who live here. The exhibition is a collaboration with photographer Mats Alfredsson and runs from 28 September to 21 January at Abecita Popkonst & Foto.

Through his lens, Mats Alfredsson captures the authentic and candid stories of Borås residents in the middle of everyday life. The pictures are accompanied by the subjects' thoughts on what matters in life. Short glimpses that add another dimension to the story, in texts written by Malin Hellstrand, communications officer and writer at Bostäder i Borås. "Boråsare" is part of the housing company's 100th anniversary, and the models have been chosen from among the company's tenants.

- For us, "Boråsare" is more than an exhibition. It is a journey through the people of Borås, where every photograph is a door into one person's world. It is a reminder that behind every face there is a story worth telling and worth listening to, says Malin Hellstrand.

The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on what it means to be part of Borås. It explores the shared values and dreams that unite us, and the effect the city and its residents have on each other. The hope is to bring people together and add to the sense of community.

- We are glad to be able to offer this exhibition to the public and hope it will inspire and move everyone who sees it. It is a tribute to the people of Borås - both those born and raised here and those of us who later chose to call it home, Malin Hellstrand continues.
