Bostäder i Borås begins this year's rent negotiations for 2026

Bostäder i Borås is now beginning this year's rent negotiations for the 2026 rents together with the Swedish Union of Tenants. Bostäder i Borås is now beginning this year's rent negotiations for the 2026 rents together with the Swedish Union of Tenants. As in previous years, the company has chosen not to present a fixed percentage ahead of the negotiations, and instead enters the talks with a focus on open dialogue and a shared set of facts.

- Our task is to manage the properties over the long term and at the same time offer good homes for our tenants. That is why it is important to us that the negotiations are transparent and take account of both our costs and our tenants' situation, says Madelen Svensson, head of finance at Bostäder i Borås.

This year too, the negotiations start from the three-party agreement between the Swedish Union of Tenants, the Swedish Property Federation and Sveriges Allmännytta. The model, which runs until the end of 2026, means that local parties negotiate on the basis of a shared set of facts.

- Through the three-party agreement we can base the negotiations on actual costs and financial circumstances, both locally and nationally. That creates the conditions for fair, long-term decisions, says Madelen Svensson.

The three-party agreement is built on the local costs for electricity, heating, waste and maintenance, and the national ones for interest rates, GDP and inflation.

The aim of the negotiations for 2026 is to find a balance between a reasonable rent level for tenants and the resources needed to look after and develop the properties of Bostäder i Borås. As soon as the negotiations are concluded, all tenants will be informed about their new rent.
