-Financially this is a difficult situation, with the high rate of inflation and the effect of the world situation on energy prices and higher interest rates. This leads to tough times for private individuals and companies alike, says Anna Hallkvist, chief financial officer at Bostäder i Borås. Our task is to take responsibility for the company's finances and at the same time work for the best interests of our tenants. We showed that when we entered the negotiations, where we put forward a lower proposal for a rent increase than many other property owners.
This increase will not cover the cost increases we see ahead of us, but it will still be felt by many of our tenants. It is a difficult balancing act. Rental income is our only way of creating the conditions for our operations, Anna Hallkvist concludes.
What remains now is to distribute the average rent increase across the company's various rental objects. The new rents take effect from 1 February 2023.
