Bostäder i Borås takes the largest share of the cost increases for the 2025 rents
Bostäder i Borås and Hyresgästföreningen, the tenants' association, have agreed on an average rent increase of 5.1 per cent for 2025. The company expects, however, that total cost increases for property management are around 12 per cent for the coming year. To keep costs down for tenants, Bostäder i Borås will therefore review its planned activities for next year.

-Our need to adjust rents is considerably higher than what the company gets through the agreement, but since things are financially tough for many tenants we have compromised, says Madelen Svensson, chief financial officer at Bostäder i Borås. Bostäder i Borås is therefore taking on a large share of the cost increases this year as well.
The agreement is based on the three-party model between Hyresgästföreningen, Fastighetsägarna and Sveriges Allmännytta, where factors such as tariff-based charges, maintenance needs, interest costs and inflation are weighed up to create a rent level that is fair from both parties' point of view.
-Since our rental income is our only source of income, we have to adjust rents to the cost increases, Madelen Svensson continues. Taking on the larger share of the costs means we need to plan our finances with great care from now on. We will continue to prioritise maintenance, so that our properties are in good condition and offer a safe living environment. Other investments, such as planned construction, may have to wait.
The new rent levels apply from 1 February 2025.
