Bostäder i Borås takes over the management of neglected properties in Norrby
For the first time, Hyresnämnden has placed a property under compulsory management with Bostäder i Borås responsible. From 25 October the company takes over the running of Billdalsgatan 1 A-B and 3, focusing on safety and stability for the tenants. The management is kept separate from ordinary operations and includes improvements to the living environment and urgent measures.
For the first time, Hyresnämnden, the rent tribunal, has decided to place a property under compulsory management with Bostäder i Borås responsible. The decision took effect on 25 October and means the company now takes over the running of Billdalsgatan 1 A-B and 3, with the aim of creating a safe and stable living environment for the residents.
- Our highest priority is to make sure the tenants affected are safe and have stability, says Sophia Jonsson, head of marketing and communications at Bostäder i Borås. Since we received the decision from Hyresnämnden we have focused on getting to grips with the case, forming a picture of the current condition of the property and informing the residents. This is a new situation for us, and we see it as a chance to make a positive difference for these tenants and for Borås as a whole.
To meet the legal requirements of the assignment, Bostäder i Borås has set up new payment solutions and direct communication with the tenants. One urgent measure, for example, was to review the heating system to secure a more tolerable indoor environment for the residents.
As the new manager, Bostäder i Borås has undertaken to ensure long-term and sustainable management of the properties. The work will cover both thorough inspections and ongoing improvements, to meet the orders issued. The aim is to maintain a decent living environment where tenants can feel safe and looked after.
- The compulsory management does not affect the company's finances, as it is kept entirely separate from our ordinary operations, Sophia Jonsson concludes.
