For the fifth year running, Bostäder i Borås is launching an open sports school in Göta together with Kronängs IF. The aim is to let children and young people take part in physical activity, whatever their financial situation. From 15 April the sports school will be held twice a week, with the goal of encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle.
The sports school sets out to create a welcoming and safe place where young people can be active, build valuable social skills and gain confidence. No advance booking is needed, and it is open to every child who wants to take part. That way no one is excluded by financial or social barriers.
- The sports school is a place where children can learn, play and grow on their own terms, which is fundamental to a happy and healthy childhood, says Genc Avdiu, acting head of area development at Bostäder i Borås. Our aim is for all children to be able to take part and get a positive introduction to sport, whatever their background or previous experience
The housing company provides the funding and the idea behind the project. Under the partnership, Kronängs IF provides leaders for the activities and equipment for each session.
