Because of serious health risks, Bostäder i Borås has decided to evacuate the tenants from the property on Billdalsgatan, which has been under compulsory management since October 2024. The decision is based on the extensive faults the company has found in the building, such as damp and mould.

- Our highest priority is to safeguard the tenants' safety and wellbeing, says Susanna Thom, head of property management at Bostäder i Borås. Given the serious risks that have been found, we need to take firm action to protect the residents.

Since the decision on compulsory management, Bostäder i Borås has carried out a thorough inspection of the property on Billdalsgatan. This has revealed serious problems such as damp and mould damage, as well as problems with electrical installations, heating and ventilation, which makes it necessary to evacuate the 24 tenants. The faults call not only for urgent action but also for long-term solutions to ensure a healthy place to live.

- The evacuation is a necessary step in our commitment to manage the property responsibly, Susanna Thom explains. That includes looking at the current problems while also taking action to prevent future issues and to make sure the property offers a good environment to live in.

During the evacuation, all affected tenants are offered support in finding new temporary housing, with a strong focus on making the move from their current home as smooth as possible.
