At the building camp, children create the Borås of the future

This summer Bostäder i Borås, together with Navet science center and RO-Gruppen, is offering a creative activity for children of middle-school age. During a week of day camp, a total of 36 children will learn about building materials, design and the creative process, among other things. The initiative is part of the housing company's 100th anniversary.

- We want to give middle-school children a chance to try out the construction industry and hopefully develop an interest that stays with them, says Sophia Jonsson, head of communications at Bostäder i Borås. It will be a fun week with new friends, creativity and the chance to try new things.

The building camp will be held at Navet in weeks 24 and 26, and lunch and refreshments are included in the participation fee. The children will plan and build a miniature city and learn about construction and the building process at the same time. Tools and materials are provided by RO-Gruppen, which also provides staff.

- We think this will be a good alternative to other day camps in Borås, says Sophia Jonsson. We offer an idea and creation process that appeals to many children. And who knows - perhaps we will see examples of how we can shape Borås in the future too.
