- We want to give children the chance to discover how enjoyable technology is by creating things themselves, says Tobias Minin, project manager at Navet science center. It is about learning by trying things out, and having fun along the way.
On two occasions during the summer, children born in 2013–2015 are offered a summer holiday activity where they spend a week building and programming their own robots. The work is done with LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime. Byggkollo is a day camp held at Navet science center, combining technology exercises, creative projects and enjoyable outings led by experienced teachers. The week ends with a big robot exhibition where the children show their own robots to family and friends.
- As a housing company we are part of building society, and we want to help spark young people's interest in technology and innovation, says Sophia Jonsson, head of marketing and communications at Bostäder i Borås. Through Byggkollo we want to give children a chance to discover how enjoyable it is to create, build and develop. That is an important foundation for the sustainable societies of the future.
Byggkollo is one of the most exciting day camps in Borås this summer and suits children who are curious about technology, robotics and programming. The camp is arranged jointly by Bostäder i Borås, RO-Gruppen and Navet science center. Places are limited to 20 children per week and you sign up at navet.com/byggkollo.
