Smart technology gives a better living environment - how the housing company will make stairwell cleaning more efficient
Together with SplitVision Borås stadsnät, Bostäder i Borås is starting a pilot project with advanced smart technology in stairwells. The aim is to optimise stairwell cleaning using advanced sensors that make better use of working hours and at the same time give tenants a cleaner and more pleasant living environment.

- We are convinced that this use of smart technology will change the rules of the game for cleaning and maintenance in residential areas, says Matts Hellström, project manager at SplitVision. Advanced sensors that register how many people pass each floor are combined with information about how the season affects dirt and wear. That way we can read off the need for cleaning on each floor and optimise the use of resources.
The technology has been used in other settings before, such as measuring humidity, monitoring parking spaces and monitoring life buoys. The pilot project will show whether the technology can make parts of property maintenance more efficient and at the same time improve the living environment for tenants.
- It will be interesting to try this technology in our industry, says Avni Bajrami, district manager at Bostäder i Borås. We are testing more and more modern solutions in order to develop and adapt to the challenges of today and of the future. This is a pilot project for both our staff and our tenants, and it will be exciting to see what results it gives.
