The success is back - a swimming school for men opens new doors

The public housing company Bostäder i Borås is now opening registration for this year's round of its successful swimming school for men. After last year's success, where interest was so great that the company ran an extra round after the summer, it hopes for just as strong a response this year. The courses consist of ten lessons and are held together with Simklubben Elfsborg.

- Last year confirmed for us that there is a great need for swimming skills, particularly among adults born abroad, says Genc Avdiu, who started the initiative and is acting head of area development at Bostäder i Borås. So it is really good that we can keep offering this opportunity. We see that being able to swim matters not only for a person's own safety, but also so that children can learn to swim through their parents.

This summer the housing company is offering 30 places for men and another 40 places for children who want to learn to swim.

- The swimming school is open to everyone in Borås, says Genc Avdiu. As a public housing company we take our social responsibility very seriously. We work for the whole of Borås to be well, and swimming skills are an important part of that. By offering swimming schools we want to help create a safer and healthier society. We look forward to carrying this important work forward in the future as well.
