The success is back - the most creative days of the summer for children

Last year's success Byggkollo is back this year with room for even more creative children. Byggkollo is aimed at children in the middle years of school, who get to explore the construction industry together in creative ways at Navet. This year's theme is to make mulmholkar for the green corridor in Borås. Byggkollo is held together with RO-Gruppen, Navet and Sparbanksstiftelsen Sjuhärad.

Bostäder i Borås is pleased to announce that last year's success Byggkollo is happening again this summer. At last year's camp, 36 creative children met to explore the construction industry and help build the Borås of the future together. This year the number of places grows to 64 in total, and the week is again held together with Navet and RO-Gruppen.

Byggkollo started last year as part of the housing company's 100th anniversary, to give children in the middle years of school a chance to try out the construction industry and spark their interest. This year Byggkollo runs over two days on four occasions, two in June and two in August. The camp is again aimed at middle-school pupils (children born 2011-2013) and starts today, Monday 17 June.

New this year is our cooperation with Sparbanksstiftelsen as co-funder. Together we are putting the focus on an important subject: building for nature. This year's theme is to make mulmholkar for the green corridor in Borås. Mulmholkar, which are houses for insects and animals, will be at the centre of the creative work during the days.

- Last year's Byggkollo was a real success, and this year we have fine-tuned the content a little more to create the most creative days of the summer. We are especially pleased with this year's theme of making mulmholkar, since you could see them as a kind of block of flats for insects and animals. We hope to spark an early interest in our industry in a meaningful way, says Sophia Jonsson, head of marketing and communications at Bostäder i Borås.

Byggkollo will be held at Navet during weeks 25 and 33, and lunch and refreshments are included in the participation fee. The participants get to plan, organise and build a box of their own while learning about construction and the building process. Tools and materials are provided by RO-gruppen, who also contribute staff.
