With your help we can cut the cost of incorrectly sorted rubbish
This year we have paid almost 800,000 kronor in penalty charges to Borås Energi och Miljö because of incorrectly sorted rubbish in our food waste bins. Money that could instead have been used to build new playgrounds, freshen up stairwells or improve outdoor areas.
To avoid these costs in future, we need to help each other sort correctly. When combustible waste or other rubbish ends up in the food waste bins, it causes problems for recycling and leads to higher costs. By sorting correctly, we all help to reduce unnecessary spending and improve our living environments.
We have already taken a number of steps to make sorting easier, such as installing new waste containers, labelling the bins more clearly and sharing information about how to sort correctly. Do you have suggestions for how we can make it even easier? Please get in touch at info@bostaderiboras.se.
3 simple tips for sorting correctly:
1. Sort correctly from the start
Put only food waste in the brown bag. Plastic, combustible waste and other rubbish do not belong there.
2. Strengthen the brown bag
Put a little kitchen paper or a piece of egg carton in the bottom of the bag to make it stronger. Avoid putting the brown bag inside a plastic bag.
3. If you see incorrectly sorted waste
Contact us if you notice that something has been thrown in the wrong place in the food waste bins, so that we can deal with it.
Together we can cut costs and create a nicer, more pleasant environment in our areas.
