Smoke Alarm Day, 1 December

1 min read

1 December is Smoke Alarm Day, and we encourage you to see this day as a small life insurance policy.

A working smoke alarm can save lives and give you and those close to you vital, decisive minutes.

Keep in mind:

  • Place smoke alarms near the kitchen (not in it) and near the bedroom
  • Test your smoke alarm every month - one simple press can save lives

How to test your smoke alarm:
You test a smoke alarm by pressing the test button. That tests every function in the alarm, including the battery. The signal is your confirmation that it works.

If the smoke alarm does not give a signal when you press the button, the battery may be flat and you need to replace it. If that does not help, you need to replace the whole smoke alarm. If you live with us and have a smoke alarm with a built-in battery that does not work, call us on 033-44 22 00 and we will help you.
