Ebba's tips on what to grow on your balcony

Would you like to grow things at home on your balcony or patio? It does not have to be difficult. With the right plants you can get started easily, even in a small space. Our outdoor environment coordinator Ebba has tips on what grows well in a planter.

If your balcony or patio is warm and sunny, you could go for herbs, berries, peas, beans, beetroot, radishes, dwarf tomatoes, chilli and black kale.

If you have a cooler, shadier spot instead, lettuce, black kale and spinach do well.

Ebba also has a few important pieces of advice:
☀️Remember to keep your plants on the inside of the balcony or patio.
💧Water your plants, not your neighbours.
🕶️Protect the plants from strong sun to begin with.
⛱️Cover the soil to stop it drying out.
🪴Less soil needs more fertiliser, so do not forget to feed your plants.
