Negotiations about your rent for 2027 are starting
We are now starting negotiations with Hyresgästföreningen about the rents for 2027. Rents are negotiated every year, with the aim that we can look after both our properties and you as tenants in the best possible way.
The negotiation follows the joint model agreed by Hyresgästföreningen, Sveriges Allmännytta and Fastighetsägarna. The model exists to give a balanced negotiation. Among other things, the negotiation looks at the costs of electricity, water, heating, interest rates and maintenance. The model also weighs in the tenant perspective.
How the negotiation works
- We invite Hyresgästföreningen to negotiate.
- We meet and go through our figures using the joint model and the situation in Borås.
- Once we have agreed, the new rents are set. You are then told your new rent, which will apply from 1 February 2027.
- If we do not agree, the matter can be passed on to Hyresmarknadskommittén, which is shared by Sveriges Allmännytta and Hyresgästföreningen. It can decide the matter.
- Common questions about the rent negotiation
- Why is the rent negotiated every year?
Our costs change over time. That is why we and Hyresgästföreningen review the rents every year.
Among other things, rents have to cover heating, electricity, water, repairs and maintenance. They also have to make it possible for us to look after and develop our properties in the long term. At the same time, we take household finances into account. The aim is to find a reasonable balance between our costs and what tenants can manage. - How does a rent negotiation work?
We start by inviting Hyresgästföreningen to negotiate. When we meet, we go through how our costs and household finances have developed. We also look at the situation here in Borås.
We have no set percentage to begin with. Only once we have gone through the conditions and negotiated can we agree on the new rent. - What happens if we do not agree?
The aim is for us and Hyresgästföreningen to agree on the new rents. How long that takes can vary from year to year.
If we do not agree, the matter can be passed on to Hyresmarknadskommittén. It is shared by Sveriges Allmännytta and Hyresgästföreningen and can decide the matter. - When will I know my new rent?
Once the negotiation is finished, you will be told your new rent.
