Vandalism met with colour and courage
When our Pride flags were torn down, we answered with more flags and a colourful work of art in the area.
Ahead of Borås Pride we raised rainbow flags in several of our areas, as a clear symbol of everyone's right to be themselves. Shortly afterwards, several flags were vandalised. At Druvefors a flagpole rope was even cut.
We chose to act straight away. Extra flags were put up, and our staff fixed the damaged rope temporarily with electrical tape. A new rope was ordered the same day. To make our message even clearer, we contacted the artist Adam Algotsson, who created a blaze of colour on the spot. It became a visible expression of openness, courage and human dignity.
As the largest landlord in Borås, with around 6,900 apartments, we have a particular responsibility to help make areas equal and safe. Taking part in Borås Pride is a clear stand for us, not only during one week in June but every day, all year round.
