The first street basketball tournament in Norrby was a hit
The music was pumping, the sun was shining and 33 teams fought for the win in the very first street basketball tournament at Norrby Torg.
If you passed Östgötagatan in Norrby on Saturday 26 April, you were met by music pouring from the speakers and a hundred or so people gathered at Norrby Torg. Children, young people and older residents came together to take part in Norrby's own street basketball tournament for the first time.
- The idea for the street basketball tournament came from us at Bostäder i Borås in 2022, because we wanted to do something positive for the Hässleholmen area, says Talar Kirkor, head of area development at Bostäder i Borås.

The result was a much appreciated tournament, which this year also gained a sister event in Norrby. The tournament was arranged together with Borås Stad, Norrbyhuset, Norrby Basket and the restaurant Spinnrocken, with a format where anyone over the age of ten can take part in teams of four players. The winning team leaves 10 000 kronor richer.
The first tournament in Norrby was blessed with glorious sunshine and 33 registered teams. Arranging events like this matters for the continued development of our areas.
- The street basketball tournaments spread joy, community and a sense of safety in our areas. People really appreciate that we organise activities in Norrby, says Talar Kirkor.

The teams were divided into four groups: 11-14 years, 15-17 years, and 18 and over. There was also a girls' group. The winners in each group were:
11-14 years: The fellas of Jockey
15-17 years: Minors
18 and over: Swish kebabs
Girls' group: Court girls
