VAT on vehicle spaces postponed
The Swedish Tax Agency is postponing the introduction of VAT on vehicle spaces. The new date is 1 April 2027.
We have previously told you that 25 per cent VAT would be added to the charge for vehicle spaces from October 2026.
The Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) has now announced that the change is being postponed. The background is that the government has appointed an inquiry to review the rules. The new date is 1 April 2027.
What does this mean for you?
If you rent a vehicle space, it means that:
- nothing changes in October 2026
- your charge stays unchanged until further notice
Does my earlier answer still apply?
You may have replied to our earlier letter about whether you want to keep your vehicle space or give notice on it.
- If you chose to keep your space, that still applies
- If you chose to give notice on your space and the notice has already taken effect, that still applies
If you want to change your earlier choice, you are welcome to contact us.
If you have not replied yet, you do not need to do anything for now.
