Free internet access for our tenants
From 1 January 2027, every tenant at Bostäder i Borås gets access to a basic internet connection at no extra cost.
The change is part of the procurement we have carried out for the fibre network in our properties. Telia won the procurement, which covers the network used for internet, TV and telephony.
The new arrangement also means an open network with several service providers. As a tenant, you can choose the provider and subscription that suit your needs. All tenants get access to basic internet at 2 Mbit/s.
"Today the internet is a natural part of everyday life. That is why we want to make sure all our tenants can use digital services, keep in touch with family and friends or help their children with schoolwork," says Sophia Jonsson, head of marketing and communications at Bostäder i Borås.
In the procurement we set high requirements for service and availability. Among other things, that means longer opening hours for support and the chance for you as a tenant to get help in person with installation or technical problems.
This is what the change means:
From 1 January 2027, you as a tenant get access to a basic internet connection at 2 Mbit/s
In addition, you are offered an open network with several service providers
You choose the provider and subscription yourself
Longer opening hours for support
Help on site with installation or technical problems
You do not need to do anything right now. More information will come closer to the start.
