How student housing rental works

Who can rent a student apartment?

You who study at the University of Borås (Borås Högskola), Borås Vocational College (Borås yrkeshögskola), or remotely at another university in Sweden can book housing with us.

Study requirements and checks

• To rent a student apartment, you must have passed at least 15 higher education credits per semester at the university. For doctoral students, the requirement is an activity rate of at least 50 percent per semester.
• Study checks are done once per semester to verify that you are still a student and meet the study requirements.
• Certain circumstances may allow you to apply for an exemption from us.

How to register for student housing

To apply for student apartments, you need to register with us. This guide shows you how, you can keep it open while you register in another window.

Step-by-step:

1. Choose "Ja/Yes" if you’re registering with someone else, or "Nej/No" if you're registering alone (most common).
2. If you don’t have a Swedish personal identity number, select "Nej/No" and enter your date of birth as YYMMDD.
   
   
3. Fill out the form and click "Nästa" (Next).
   
   
4. On the next page:
   
   Tick the box: "Jag vill samla köpoäng för lägenheter" (I want to register in the student housing queue).
   
   If you need parking, tick: "Jag vill ha min köplats för fordonsplats aktiverad" (I want to register for the parking queue).
   
   Click "Nästa" (Next).
   
   
5. Fill in:
   
   Type of income → Choose "Studiebidrag" (Study grant).
   

   Yearly income → Enter the amount in SEK.

   Företag/skola → Enter your school.

   Nuvarande boendeform → Choose "Annat" (Other).

   Antal personer → Select how many people will live in the apartment.

   Click "Nästa" (Next).

6. Set your password (6–10 characters, with at least one uppercase and one lowercase letter).
   
   You can use both letters and numbers.
   
   Click "Nästa" (Next) to review your info.
   
   
7. Review your details.
   
   Click "Tillbaka" (Back) if you need to make changes.
   
   When everything is correct, click "Slutför" (Finish).

 Done! You are now registered and ready to start booking student housing.
